This paper presents the development of a DC motor model for use as a plant in a servo system, controlled by a PID controller. The model is derived from fundamental principles, simulation used to evaluate its performance, Further research included the mathematical model of the DC motor and the effectiveness of the PID controller were validated in the simulation environment
