Solvent extraction of copper from copper sulfate leachate was carried out using the oxime extract ant Mextral984H diluted in distilled kerosene. McCabe - Thiele distribution isotherms showed that at equilibrium pH 1.5 total and selective copper extraction can be realized with Vo:Va =1:1 in three-stage counter current extraction. Stripping of the loaded copper was easily obtained by a lean electrolyte. Increase of aqueous phase pH and extract ant concentration in the organic phase increases the percentage extraction of copper. Increase of temperature during extraction resulted in an increase in percentage extraction whereas the reverse was observed during stripping. The process for the recovery of copper from leachate was tested. The percentage extraction and stripping of copper were 99% and 79%, respectively, copper concentration in raffinate was 0.07g/L.
