Abstract

Global demographic shifts necessitate evidence-based strategies to enhance physical, psychological, and social wellbeing in older adults. This systematic review synthesizes recent interventions (2020–2024) from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science (13 studies) following PRISMA guidelines, identifying five intervention categories: (1) physical activity, (2) psychosocial/community-based, (3) arts/creative engagement, (4) technology/digital approaches, and (5) policy/educational programs. Physical activity and psychosocial interventions demonstrated robust efficacy in improving intrinsic capacity, reducing loneliness, and enhancing quality of life, while technology-based tools yielded mixed results, and policy reforms significantly reduced care deficits. Findings underscore the critical role of multidimensional interventions addressing biological, psychological, and social domains in promoting healthy ageing, with future research priorities including longitudinal designs, cross-cultural adaptation, and implementation science to optimize scalability and effectiveness.
