Cryptocurrency has emerged as an important innovation in the modern financial system, attracting significant attention from investors, businesses, and young individuals. This study aims to examine the level of awareness and adoption of cryptocurrency among college students in Tirupur city. The study also analyzes the factors influencing students’ perception, investment decisions, and willingness to adopt cryptocurrency. Primary data for the study were collected from 100 respondents through a structured questionnaire using convenience sampling. The collected data were analyzed using statistical tools such as percentage analysis, rank analysis, Likert scale analysis, and Chi-square analysis. The findings reveal that a majority of respondents are aware of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, and many show interest in investing in digital currencies. Bitcoin is identified as the most well-known cryptocurrency among students. Technological awareness, expected returns, and security are found to be the major factors influencing investment decisions. However, concerns such as price volatility, lack of regulation, fear of scams, and limited legal protection remain key challenges for adoption. The study concludes that although students have a good level of awareness about cryptocurrency, further financial education and clear regulatory frameworks are necessary to improve understanding and promote responsible adoption of digital currencies.
