Due to the fast galloping population, increasing traffic the space in the city area is shrinking fast and the urban area is modifying its characteristics with high migration rate. These transitional zones generally known as peri-urban areas varying in width and nature and have rapid change with increasing population pressure. In the present paper the author try to reveal the various impact of city on its surrounding peri-urban area leading to changes in landuse , social and economic structure of the rural folk living in the peripheral area of the city.
