Recent technological developments in Artificial Intelligence and a growing increase in remote work arrangements have consequently led to profound organizational structure, communication and relationships within workplaces worldwide. However, these technologies are responsible for increase in work efficiency, speed and effectiveness, but also contribute to alteration of human relationships in organizations. This paper will analyze Human Relations Theory in an AI and remote work environments through the method of secondary research. Building on Elton Mayo's seminal work and up-to-date studies concerning AI and workplace communications, it investigates changes in social relationships, employee motivation, feelings and communication in an organization. Results indicate that while AI and remote work enable employees to benefit from increased autonomy, efficiency, communication opportunities; they pose challenges due to decreased human-to-human contact, emotional alienation, distrust and misinterpretation as well as Ethical issues like surveillance and invasion of privacy. This paper will demonstrate that, despite technological changes that lead to a different structure in the organizations, the fundamental theories on Human Relations continue to apply as employee fulfillment and an emotional bond between employees still significantly impact organizations and their productivity. Organizations are advised to combine technology with human-centric management so that work relationships and employees stay happy and engaged in organizations.
